Inappropriate personal conduct - sexual harassment and workplace bullying

The OLSC has prepared Fact Sheets regarding inappropriate personal conduct in the legal profession. These explain the informal reporting process and the investigation process should a formal complaint be made.

To those who experience sexual harassment or bullying and those who may witness it – we want you to contact us and give us whatever information you feel comfortable sharing with us.

Call (02) 9377 1865 and say you want to talk about a Personal Conduct issue.

Everyone has the right to a safe place of work. You can take the first step to help us improve the culture in our profession by making the call.

The OLSC realises that many people do not want to make a formal complaint, certainly not at first. We are looking for any informal disclosures (anonymously if you wish) to get a better idea of what is happening in the legal profession. You will have control over what use we make of your information.

If you have been subjected to, witnessed or have knowledge of discrimination, sexual harassment or workplace bullying in a law practice and you wish to notify us, you may do so online see:

https://www.lawsociety.com.au/practising-law-nsw/sexual-harassment-law/reporting-harassment

or please access the relevant Notification form:

Notification of inappropriate personal conduct in a law practice (Subject) (43KB)

Notification of inappropriate personal conduct in a law practice (Anonymous) (44KB)

Notification of inappropriate personal conduct in a law practice (Witness) (45KB)

If you wish to make a formal complaint, please use our Complaint Form (153 KB).

Our guiding principle is to never cause you further trauma. We need your reports so we can start to plan the end of the impunity that perpetrators currently think they enjoy.
